Sculptra FAQs

What is Sculptra?

1

Sculptra® is a biostimulatory injectable made of poly-L-lactic acid that restores facial structure by encouraging your body to produce new collagen over time. Instead of adding immediate volume like traditional dermal fillers, it gradually improves overall skin quality, support, and facial contour. Results appear over a 4-6 weeks and can last up to two years or longer.

Who is a good candidate?

2

Sculptra is ideal for patients experiencing gradual skin thinning or volume loss who want subtle, long-term collagen stimulation rather than immediate volume from traditional dermal filler.

Why should I consider Sculptra?

3

Sculptra® works by stimulating your body’s natural collagen production, helping restore facial structure and skin quality over time.

What is the difference between Sculptra and filler?

4

Traditional dermal fillers provides instant volume, while Sculptra® gradually stimulates collagen to restore structure over several months.

How long does Sculptra last?

5

Results can last up to 24 months or longer after a full treatment series.

Can I still get a facelift after Sculptra?

6

Yes. Sculptra does not prevent surgical procedures later. In fact, improving collagen quality can support better skin quality overall.

How do I maintain my results?

7

After the initial treatment series, many patients maintain results with annual maintenance treatments.

What should I expect as far as downtime?

8

Most patients experience mild swelling or bruising for a few days. You will be instructed to massage the treated areas for several days following treatment, activities such as high intensity workouts, hot saunas, and suntanning should be avoided for up to 24-48 hours.
