PRF FAQs

What is PRF?

1

PRF (Platelet-Rich Fibrin) is an advanced regenerative treatment that uses your body’s own platelets, growth factors, and fibrin-matrix proteins to stimulate collagen and improve overall skin quality. After a small blood draw, the platelet-rich portion is separated and injected or used with Skin Treatments like microneedling with SkinPen®. Results develop gradually over several weeks.

Who is a good candidate?

2

PRF is ideal for patients looking to naturally restore facial volume, improve skin texture, enhance elasticity, and support overall skin quality without the use of traditional hyaluronic acid fillers.

Why should I consider PRF?

3

PRF gradually stimulates collagen over time by activating your body’s natural healing response to improve collagen production.

What is the difference between PRF and filler?

4

Filler provides immediate structure or volume, while PRF stimulates gradual collagen production over time using your own blood-derived growth factors.

How long does PRF last?

5

Results develop gradually over several weeks and can last 9–12 months, depending on individual metabolism and treatment area.

How many sessions will I need?

6

Most patients benefit from a series of 2–3 sessions spaced about 4–6 weeks apart.

How do I maintain my results?

7

Maintenance treatments are typically recommended once or twice per year. Most patients maintain results with consistent Medical Grade Skincare use (including daily use of sunscreen) and Skin Treatments such as SkinPen® for global skin health.

What should I expect as far as downtime?

8

Mild swelling or bruising can occur, especially in delicate areas like under the eyes. Most patients resume normal activities within 24–48 hours, activities such as high intensity workouts, hot saunas, and suntanning should be avoided for up to 24-48 hours..
